Future Plans
Future Projects

Don’t we wish that life could be organized and planned, and everything fell
into place as it should. Don’t we wish that the universe would unfold as it
should.

Unfortunately life just isn’t that simple.
And I have come to appreciate that you can plan all you want, but it won’t
necessarily make it so.
Life can subject us to some real challenges.
To use a baseball analogy, life can throw us some real curves.
However, I also know that you won’t reach your destination without a map,
and you won’t achieve your goals without a target.

So here are my plans for the next 12 to 18 months.
Take this planning with a grain of salt, because I am often disappointed with
my productivity … like the old adage about my eyes being bigger than my
stomach, I aim to complete more drawings in a specific timeframe than I can
possibly hope to achieve. I have come to the conclusion that I probably can
complete 6-8 images per year if all the stars are in alignment … and
expecting to achieve anything more than that is just wishful thinking.

Here are some people that I respect and admire, and once I find a suitable
reference photo, I will “do them”.

The Old West Clint Eastwood
Legends Ali
Humanities Winston Churchill

In terms of Animal Kingdom there is absolutely no shortage of material.
I would dearly love to complete a panda, a killer whale, an eagle, a leopard,
the wildebeests … I am sure you get the idea … I have more subject matter
here than I can possibly hope to complete in the next year or two.

You may have noticed www.brownpencil.com in my links page.
This is a website that I have created for those images that just don’t fit with
my brownblackandwhite gallery.
I will use this new address for mechanical images … you may find more
firefighting images here in the future, and I would like to take a stab at
drawing some of the classic cars that go back to the 50’s and 60’s. I may not
own the real thing, but I can at least lay claim to an image.

And finally, I would like to create a new category in the gallery.
I think I will identify it as It’s a Wonderful World.
(with apologies to Louis Armstrong).
My intention is to create a photo reference library of local street scenes, and
countryside with my trusty digital camera.
I would like to capture a slice of this wonderful world that we live in … and by
this I mean not only the world that we have inherited, but also the world that
we have created.
I want to record the wonder of nature, and the achievements of man.
I don’t know exactly where this will lead me, but I know that it will consume
a great deal of my interest over the next year.
I look forward to the challenge, and hope that you enjoy the results.

So there you have it.
Please let me know if you have a passion for a particular subject.
You may influence my plans.
And at the very least, you will make me stop and think … and that is not a
bad thing.
Just ask my wife.
